If you own a 3D printer and want a CNC, this series is for you. The MPCNC (mostly printed CNC) is as its name suggests, a CNC machine that is primarily 3D printed. In this series I am making the lowrider2, which has infinite length in the Y axis as it rolls along a workbench or table. The finished machine can be used as either a router or laser cutter.
This was a Patreon request and I’m really excited about completing it. I purchased my vitamins from V1 Engineering and made the rest myself. If you didn’t have a way to manufacture the cut parts, you can order them from V1 engineering, print, trace and cut with a jigsaw, or visit your local makerspace. If you don’t have a 3D printer you can order the printed parts too.
In the next episode I’ll be attaching the belts, electronic and configuring the firmware to get this thing moving.
