I did not expect to be using the CNC thus!

In this part1 video we experiment with and learn about the big DIY concrete CNC machine we built. It’s powerful and fun.

Part 2 is here! https://youtu.be/O4sJTCd2mig

The 3D model of the cam-clamps is here (it’s in the shop but free): https://ko-fi.com/floweringelbow/
3D CAD model of the CNC machine itself: https://ko-fi.com/floweringelbow/shop

To see how this CNC is made watch this: https://youtu.be/cqYJS27aC4w

For the easy DIY aluminium heat treatment: https://youtu.be/z5ejhb1t8BY

In the MQL system I’m using a ratio of:
1 filtered waste veg oil : 1 water : a dash of eco dish soap

The spindle motor in the video is a 240V single phase Jianken JGL-100mm 3.2kw 24000rpm BT30 ATC. It has ceramic bearings and thus far seems very very nice. We chose a 4 pole one, which has somewhat more torque at lower rpm than the 2 pole, but requires an 800Hz VFD. You can find them here: https://jianken.en.alibaba.com/ and if you do buy from them, message them and mention ‘Flowering Elbow’ to get yourself a discount!

The endmills and tool holders used in this one were from DGNZNC, a seller on aliexpress you can see here: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/4650128?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000007.1.3613389fBalW0C they work, and are such exceptionally good value it’s not a disaster if you accidentally break some (luckily for me!). If you mention ‘FloweringElbow’ they should give you a 5% discount.
