When buying a CNC machine of any kind (router, laser, milling machine, plasma cutter, 3d printer), nothing beats knowledge and taking a little time to make the best decision.

The first tip is there are no ‘new gadget’ CNC’s. CNC has been around for a long time and they all operate the same at the basic level. It’s like a toaster in the kitchen. You can add all kinds of bells and whistles to it. It still comes down to 2 heating elements.

Tips to buying a CNC machine
1. Never buy from a third-party source (Amazon, Ebay, etc)

2. Know what you’re buying. Educate yourself on CNC machines
→ For CNc routers, watch this video → https://youtu.be/rqKwcqHdSPw

3. Make sure the company supports its customer base – Call them!

4. Make sure the machine is built for your intention

5. What is the market saying, customer experience about the machine/company. Join the Facebook groups to see.

6. Be ready for the other expenses
You will need to buy tooling, software, materials, and other misc stuff to support it

7. Know it will take time to learn. Be ready and be patient.

BONUS Tip: Be wary of any video, ad or other sources that implies it’s easy to make money with a CNC machine.
