This video comes from a project where I have to machine holes in 4 sides of a control box and I do about 20 of them at a time. I was using a manual fixture and doing one side at a time but that took too long. So I made a vacuum fixture for a 4th axis unit and combined all 4 gcode files into one with a 90 degree rotation added between each set of code. The part is held via the vacuum fixture which has pins to ensure perfect alignment every time.
When you have a production operation for your CNC, being creative with fixtures can save you a lot of time and make your life much easier.
This project was done on a STEPCRAFT Q.204 CNC system with a 2.2Kw ATC spindle using a 4 1/2″ Rotary 4th axis.
