I turn a railway into an anvil using the CNC milling cutter .

Hello, welcome to the garage restoration .

Today I turn a railway into an anvil using the CNC cutter!
I found a piece of railroad that looked like an anvil , but unfinished and very rusty .
I cleaned it of tar by melting it with fire ,and rust cleaned with wire brush grinder .The presence of holes in the sole, I had to load them with welding and cut the sole with a metal saw .
Then I brought him to work, where I have a CNC milling machine .I fixed it in the vise, measured the size of the piece .I started CNC programming, I called the measuring instrument called Renishaw.
I did a face milling , After the outer contour, with roughing and finishing ,and 4 fixing holes.
The second part I did with the square hole , by milling with carbide cutter , Outer trench and contour at 45 ,I also took care of the sides, to do milling, because cnc allows you to make them easy .
We used a solution to remove rust, where there was no milling . After I decided to use a grinder to correct what was left of the milling. At the end, I use primer and a red paint

If you want more, clips from my job please leave a comment.
