Milling wood on the Sherline CNC mill (6x speed)



Part of the process of making of a part out of Acacia melanoxylon hardwood (aka australian blackwood). Cutting parameters: DOC: 2.5mm, Feed: 580 mm/min (22.8 IPM), RPM: 2800 (top speed in this case), 3/8″ carbide end mill.

The wood piece is clamped to a base block using four screws. Operation order should be taken into consideration to avoid wood splintering.
